Why is my dog not using his back legs to get up and walk around?
If your dog is older, there s a good chance it has developed hip dyplasia. This is a genetic condition, which causes an abnormal formation of the hip socket. As the dog gets older, it becomes weaker in its hip joints, sometimes developing arthritis, and almost certainly some limping, having difficulty supporting its back legs.Another more critical probem that causes this symptom of weakness in the back legs, is tick poisoning. Ticks can cause paralysis, usually seen in the back legs first, and unless your dog is taken to a vet immediately, it will die.
