What influenced Karl Marx ideas?
There were a great many influences on Marx’s work and ideas but it could be said that the main things were French utopian socialism (Saint-Simon, Fourier, people like that), British political economy (Smith, Ricardo, so on), German philosophy (Hegel, Feurbach, all that), the writings of some other people such as Justus von Liebig and Epicurus. All of these things he brought together and integrated them all into one larger system of thought with many of his own original ideas, particularly his and Engels’ dialectical materialism as it would later come to be called.
