What does the author mean when he says that puritans preached that the soul had two parts the immortal masculine half and the moral feminine half?

  • What means a half or either of two fairly equal parts?

Mathematically speaking, it means nothing. FAIRLY EQUAL is not half. Half is EXACTLY equal.
