Why computers are grouped into different generations?

changes/improvements in technology

This is actually in reference to the Central Processing Unit (CPU)
which controls everything the computer does. Intel uses the
“generation” to classify their CPUs. The higher the generation the
more complex the CPU is and the more work it can perform, not to
mention that the later generations are also a lot faster and have
better graphics handling capabilities.

They’re also higher in price.
