What was the Childrens Crusade?
The Children’s Crusade was a fourth Crusade which occurred in 1212. The average age of the children was 12. They were sent to rid the Holy Land of Muslims and Turks, since the first three Crusades had failed. The people believed the children would succeed because the children have not sinned as much as adults, because they have not lived long enough. The children never made it to the Holy Land. They all either were swept off the boat, starved, or were tricked and sold into slavery.
